Some of the best teaching in the marching arts happens quietly: a mentor explaining not just what to do, but why; an instructor who knows exactly how to bring a nervous rookie along; a rehearsal space where mistakes feel like part of learning. Instructors have always built this knowledge through mentorship, years of performing, and time on the floor or field.

Linden was created to put those practices into writing and make them available to everyone. Fields like fitness and coaching have long shared written professional education, and we believe colorguard instructors deserve the same kind of thoughtful, accessible resources, designed specifically for this activity.

Teaching in this activity carries real responsibility. Instructors shape how students experience learning, how they handle mistakes, and how they feel about themselves in the rehearsal space. We believe instructors deserve education that supports them in that work, along with the confidence that comes from understanding the why behind what they do.
